Procrastination

I had stopped watching Fringe for a while and that had been, I have to say, a greeeat idea. Now I’ve started again and have had to limit my hours of viewing. I’ve decided that 3hours of work should allow me to an episode. It’s more likely though that I will do 2hours, an episode. But well. Oh gosh I have no will.

But I’m receiving my raclette grill tomorrow and I have to stay home for the delivery… I’ll just have  to wait for my mum to send me over some raclette so I can try it and have the first one of the year. Oh cheese how much I love you!

Anyway as I am a very good procrastinator I have also done what I loooove doing at this time of the year, carved a pumpkin, it’s a teeny tiny one and definitely not my best but it was a great collaboration with Jon on the design ;)

The Fountain

One of my favourite movies if not my favourite.

Many people hate it, don’t understand it, others love it. When it was presented at the Venice International Film Festival in 2006 it was booed by the press but got a standing ovation by the public the following day…

Some people thought that it was too pretentious (with the quotation from the Bible for instance) and that the actors were over acting. I think that some people don’t like it because it is so different and about feelings that are close to selfishness; no for once Hugh Jackman is not trying to save the world but simply his wife - and he plays it perfectly.

I don’t think many people can argue against the fact that it is visually amazing, and that the score by Clint Mansell is beautiful.

Then of course the whole thematic appeals to me… The conquistador, the tree (yes I am absolutely obsessed with trees), the love story, the idea of writing to come to terms with life and death…

Ok this is not very objective but to be clear, I love this movie.

Just one thing, do not ever watch it dubbed (I’ve seen the French version it just sounds ridiculous) anyway DO NOT WATCH DUBBED FILMS (it’s bad for your health and reading-even subtitles- is good for you)
